Hayden used a team button from the tournament to recreate a model made out of legos. Pretty awesome! It was so much fun meeting other teams!

After a day of team spirit and pizza, our team pulled through and won the champions award! Our team is honored and humbled by this award.
Our team was more than surprised when we received a call back from the judges. We all pulled together to help recreate the model that had been unassumingly dissembled in a short time frame, and rushed to the judges. It was nerve wracking, but we pulled through. Go Lunatechs!!!
Our team had fun collecting buttons, leading our team flag down the hallway, modifying robots and programs, and playing with the hula hoops in the parking lot.
We spent a significant amount of time playing charades at the hotel (James & Joy were the power team).
This year we are commenting all of our programs. We are working hard to make sure the comments tell the why and not just the what. It actually does make it easier to tweak the programs and make updates. Thanks for encouraging us Julie!!!!Joy spent some time painting dark paint on Styrofoam to create the effect of a moon going through its cycles. Our model is inspired by one we saw on an awesome blog written by a really cool science teacher. You can see it here: Science Teaching Junkie
For this team builder a marker was held in a ring with five stings attached. We had to each hold the end of the string and write the word "team" all together as a team. We all wrapped the string around our hands so that our hands were really close to the marker. It made it so much easier! Our coach said, "But you have to hold the end of the string!" We all replied with big smiles "We ARE holding the end. We just aren't holding it by the end ONLY!" We love being creative on team builders. They are one of our favorite parts of our meetings.
